Greetings Children of God! This coming Lord’s day, Sunday the 24th, service here with Christ’s Chapel will include water baptism of a number of faithful believers in Christ Jesus! We are happy to invite you to join in worship, prayer and the receiving of the Word as you give witness to the testimony and baptism of your fellow parishioners here with Christ’s Chapel.
We find in Acts 2, that at Pentecost in Jerusalem, Peter stood and began to give the word of God. He began with “let this be known to you, and give ear to my words” (v14). He went on to teach of the out pouring of the promise of the Holy Spirit upon those gathered in the Upper Room, declaring it to be a manifestation of the utterance (God’s teaching) through the Prophet Joel. “And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh…” (v17), he went on to preach. As the word came forth, he taught of the coming of our Savior, Christ Jesus, His crucifixion and raising up, “This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear. (V32,33). When the hearts of those with the ear to hear the Word were touched of God, they asked “what shall we do?” (v37), and Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” (V37, 38).
Just as the children of God were admonished that day, that as they came to Christ, receiving his forgiveness, that they were to repent and be baptized, so it is that we will witness this Lord’s Day of those who have studied God’s word, come to Christ, repented and are now believing God that as they are baptized in His name, that they will be blessed of God with the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Come, let your faith rise as we worship the Lord this day. Let your worship be a fullness of your heart pouring out unto Christ Jesus, your Lord and Savior.
May you be blessed this Lord’s Day.
Sincerely,
Pastor Simeon Strauser
Christ’s Chapel
