The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing. Zephaniah 3:17

Church, we open March with the theme of Trusting in the Lord! There is a hymn of old, that many of you have heard from time to time. Its title is Precious Lord, Take my Hand, written by Thomas Dorsey in 1932. The first stanza plays…. Precious Lord, take my hand, Lead me on, let me stand, I am tired, I am weak, I am worn; Through the storm, through the night, Lead me on to the light: Take my hand, precious Lord, Lead me home. This selection of worship depicts one who in need of fully trusting in God, to as God speaks over the Israel, to trust in the One who is Mighty to save!
Proverbs gives to us, ‘trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths (v3:5-6). This is the directive of our Lord God, to look to Him, above all others, above even our own understanding, trusting in the Lord Himself, the fulfillment of all grace, and in Him alone. As we seek Him, we are called to receive him as the God of all grace, for all temporal blessings, and for all spiritual blessings, for our eternal life in Him, which He has provided (John 3:16), promised, and freely gives. As the child of God, you are being called to trust in him at all times, in times of weakness, tiredness, in times of storm and darkness, knowing that He will hold you by His hand. By faith, knowing that as your Lord God is in your midst, He is mighty to save, and he will rejoice over you with gladness. He shall direct your paths (Prov. 3:6). May you look to Him today in full trust, for He is loving you abundantly.
This Sunday is Communion Sunday. It is our prayer that you will be with us in worship as we as a body, come before the Lord in the following of the command, ‘do this in remembrance of Me’. As we take of the Lord’s table, it is in faith, that we receive his healing and forgiveness of all sins and iniquity. Our trust is in Him and Him alone.
In Christ,
Pastor Simeon Strauser
