WHO GOD IS… THE GOSPEL OF JOHN
Blessed greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus,
This Sunday, Christ’s Chapel opens the study of the Gospel of John, being led by church elder, Pastor Elijah Munro. For the Gospel of John teachings, classes will be held each Sunday morning Feb-May 9:30-10:15 a.m. Worship Celebration will begin at 10:30 a.m.
The gospel of John is traditionally referred to as the 4th gospel, beginning with,
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it”.
Here we find that John begins the narrative, taking the reader to before time, in the beginning, and then begins to describe what God declares preceded. It is within the opening of this gospel that Jesus, the Son of God is identified as have been given the name, the Word! Throughout the beginning of this study, ‘Who God Is’ will be closely examined. As the disciples of Christ Jesus, come believing for a greater depth of knowledge of God’s wisdom and power, as the scripture is opened with reflections of God even from before history began.
Christ’s Chapel ‘Youth Devotion’ class will join the Adult study for this initial insight into Who God Is. We look forward to having you with us. God bless you.
Sincerely,
Pastor Simeon Strauser
Christ’s Chapel
