God’s Love – Mighty to Save

February 24, 2021 By Simeon Strauser Leave a Comment

Greetings to you today Church,

In this season of giving love, whether it be through a phone call, or by letter, card, or even with the giving of a collection of beautiful flowers, what we find is, there is always the availability to give love.

Today I believe, that as the children of God, we are called to give remembrance to the great and eternal love of God, giving thought to His word, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).   We then find in 1 John 4, our Lord God speaks to you of His perfect love.  There we are reminded, because He is the giver of perfect love (v 19), ‘we love Him because He first loved us’.  How precious it is to know that God loved you to such a degree, that while you were yet in sin (Colossians 2:13), He gave His only Son, Jesus, to die for you; to be your Savior; that as you believe in him, you should not perish, but be fully forgiven of all trespasses, that you might be saved, having the hope of eternal life in the presence of your Almighty God!

Beloved, I ask today, where is your faith?  What is the status of your present relationship with your Savior, Christ Jesus?    Are you loving and living for Him, because He first loved you?   As you study the Scriptures of John 3, 1John 4, and Colossians 2 in context,  I encourage you, each one, to go before the Lord in prayer and renew your commitment to Him with an open heart of prayer – praying, ‘Lord Jesus, I confess before You, I need your saving grace. I believe that you died for me, and that you rose again. Lord God, I pray, forgive me of all sin and iniquity; wash me; grant unto me the faith to live for You and You alone. Let me be a mighty testimony of Your mighty love and saving power.  This I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen’.   Let all the church say amen!!

As you walk forward in the days ahead, let your renewed commitment before the Lord be your guiding premise.  As you seek to please the Lord, walking faithfully by the power of His Word, you will love others (1John 4:7) with the blessed love of God.  Remember always, ‘greater is He (God) who is in you, than he (satan) who is in the world’ (1John 4:4).  God is with you.  You are His child. Loved and cared for you are!

May you give perfect love one to another as you go forth as the child of God.

Lord bless you and keep you,

Pastor Simeon Strauser
